My family tends to hold fast to its stories. This is our way of connecting to other generations, and of trying to find a foothold in the strange lands that we have traveled to.

 

Puertoricans under self-imposed exile, diaspora, the slave trade, and death. These unsteady paths in themselves do not change the loneliness and scars. So we tell stories.
